Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. I've heard the beach there is amazing, but I'm a total klutz and always seem to get sunburned. What are some tips for avoiding a l… more

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! Like, seriously, slather that stuff on every two hours, even on cloudy days. Get a high SPF, waterproof kind. Those little spray bottles are great for reapplying while you're kayaking or paddleboarding. A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses are your best friends. Trust me, I've learned the hard way. Also, consider those rash guards – they're surprisingly comfortable and offer great sun protection. And don’t forget to hydrate! Lots and lots of water. Enjoy your trip! You'll have a blast.

Oh my gosh, thank you! I completely spaced on the sunscreen thing. Seriously appreciate the detailed advice, especially about the spray bottles and rash guards – hadn't even thought of those. I'm already picturing myself looking like a lobster after a day of kayaking... Water, check. Sun hat and sunglasses, check... Now I just need to grab some of that high SPF stuff. Thanks again!

Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort: A Week of Bliss?

I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month for a much-needed vacation. I've heard amazing things about their swim-up suites – total relaxation goals! But, I’m a bit worried abou… more

Been there, done that. The seaweed situation in Cancun is, shall we say, variable. Some weeks it's practically nonexistent, other weeks...yeah, it's a bit of a problem. Dreams Vista does try to clean it up, but it's a losing battle sometimes, especially depending on the ocean currents. I wouldn't completely write it off, but temper your expectations. It's probably not going to be the pristine beach scene from a postcard, possibly. Best bet is to check recent photos on Google Maps street view or something similar nearer to your travel date. That'll give you a much better idea than anything I can tell you.

Thanks for the heads-up! Variable seaweed is definitely something I hadn't considered. Checking Google Maps street view closer to my trip is a great idea – hadn't thought of that. I appreciate the realistic assessment; I'd rather know what to expect than be disappointed by a postcard-perfect fantasy. I'm still leaning towards going, but I'll definitely do that Google Maps check.
