Estadio's Sound System?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

So I'm heading to @Cancun next month and I've got tickets to a concert at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Been reading some reviews, and they're a mixed bag...some rave about the atmosphere… more

Yeah, the sound at Andrés Quintana Roo is… a lottery. I saw a show there last year, lower bowl, and it was fine. My buddy went to a different concert in the upper levels and said it was pretty muddy – hard to make out individual instruments. Honestly, unless you're REALLY picky about sound quality or the artist is known for incredible sound design, I wouldn't sweat the extra cash for better seats. The atmosphere is usually pretty great, regardless of where you sit. Just manage your expectations on the audio front. You'll probably still have a good time!

That's super helpful, thanks! Lottery is a pretty accurate description. Muddy sound is my biggest concert pet peeve, so I appreciate the heads-up. Guess I'll prioritize a good view and atmosphere then; sounds like a blast either way.

Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun soon and I'm weirdly excited to see Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. My abuela went there – she always talks about the courtyard, how everyone would gather there at lunch… more

Cancun's changed a lot, even in the last 10 years. Your abuela's stories sound awesome! Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera... I'd bet the courtyard's still a hub, even if things are a bit different now. School life in Mexico is pretty lively, generally speaking; lots of social interaction, less emphasis on strict rules compared to, say, the US schools. The soccer matches? Probably still legendary, haha. Think less "organized sports" and more "spirited chaos". But don't expect a Hollywood movie version of high school life; it'll be more authentic, everyday life. Enjoy your trip, and try to find someone who attended the school recently - maybe you'll hear some updated stories.
