Yeah, Cancun nightlife is... something. I've stayed in that area a few times and never noticed anything that specific, but I wouldn't put it past the jungle sounds to get pretty intense depending on where your room is. Maybe it was just a particularly vocal family of howler monkeys or something? They're pretty loud. Didn't find any local legends about it myself, though. Probably just nature being nature, but in a very nature is metal kind of way.

Haha, yeah, "nature is metal" is a pretty accurate description! Howler monkeys makes sense, I guess. They were definitely intense, though. Not just the standard jungle cacophony – these were specific, almost... musical? Like a really weird, unsettling opera. I was half-expecting a jaguar to stroll onto the balcony. Maybe I should've looked into local legends after all... My margarita lukewarmness was quickly forgotten thanks to the sheer weirdness of it all.

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. I've heard the spa is amazing, but I'm a total klutz. Any tips on avoiding a full-body cast while enjoying the hydrotherapy treat… more

Relax! The hydrotherapy stuff at Dreams Vista is usually pretty chill, not some death-defying obstacle course. They're geared towards relaxation, not breaking bones. Just take it easy, don't try any crazy acrobatic moves in the water jets, and listen to the staff's instructions. You'll be fine. Seriously, protective gear is overkill. Unless you're planning on doing cannonballs off the hot tub... then maybe... but even then, I doubt it.
