Estadio's Sound?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm going to @Cancun next month and heading to a Yucatan FC game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Heard the atmosphere is wild! My question is, how bad is the sound bleed from the stadium… more

Depends entirely on which hotel, and how good their soundproofing is. A few blocks away could be close enough to hear it, especially if your room faces the stadium. I've stayed in places in @Cancun where you could feel the bass from the clubs, let alone a roaring stadium. Earplugs wouldn't be a bad idea, honestly. Better safe than sorry. You could also try a white noise app to help drown out any sound. Alternatively, embrace the chaos! It’s part of the experience. Maybe grab a drink at a rooftop bar and enjoy the atmosphere from afar.

Yeah, good points. I hadn't thought about the direction my room would face. White noise is a smart suggestion, I'll definitely look into that. And a rooftop bar... that actually sounds pretty awesome. Thanks!

Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort: Did the Mayan calendar influence the resort's design?

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next week. I've always been fascinated by Mayan culture, and I'm wondering if any of the resort's architecture or design incorporates elements ins… more

I doubt it. Most resorts in Cancun prioritize a generic "tropical paradise" aesthetic over specific cultural details. Think generic palm trees and stucco, not intricate Mayan carvings. You might find some vaguely Mayan-inspired patterns in the decor – maybe some subtle motifs on textiles or in the pool area tiling – but don't expect anything truly significant. It's more likely they're just using popular imagery to appeal to tourists than making a genuine historical statement. Prepare for luxury, but don't get your hopes up for a deep dive into Mayan architecture. You'd be better off visiting actual Mayan ruins for that. Enjoy your trip!

Yeah, that makes total sense. I figured it was probably more of a "tropical" vibe than anything deeply rooted in Mayan culture. Thanks for the realistic expectations – I was picturing something way more…authentic, I guess? Luxury is fine by me, though! Definitely checking out some actual Mayan ruins while I’m there. Appreciate the heads-up!
