Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort: Mosquito Mayhem?

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. Heard the beaches are amazing, but also read some… less-than-stellar reviews about the mosquitos. Seriously, some people said it… more

Yeah, Cancun mosquitos can be brutal, especially around dusk and dawn. DEET is a good start, but honestly, I'd bring something with picaridin too – it's less harsh on skin and seems to work well for a lot of people. And a Thermacell might be a worthwhile investment, if you plan on spending a lot of time outside on your balcony. Those things are lifesavers. Honestly, I don't think there's any completely mosquito-free zone in Cancun, but I've found the areas further from the mangroves tend to be better. Stick to the well-lit areas of the resort, especially around the pools and main buildings. The breeze usually helps too. Don't forget long sleeves and pants for evenings! Think of it as a preemptive strike against those tiny vampires. Enjoy your trip, and hopefully you'll only end up with a few bites instead of a full-blown bloodbath.

Arsgan House Mystery?

So I'm finally visiting this Arsgan House chalet everyone's been raving about near Playa del Carmen. Pictures online make it look stunning, right on the beach. But I'm a little freaked out by the re… more

Yeah, that "persistent sea breeze" is a real thing. Think more "consistent, strong breeze" than "hurricane." It's the Caribbean, so expect wind, especially near the coast. It's not always unpleasant, but it's definitely noticeable. Pack lightweight clothing that won't blow away, maybe some hair ties if you're worried about your locks, and definitely sunscreen – you'll be exposed more than you think! Bring a light scarf or shawl too, just in case you get a little chilly in the evenings. Enjoy your stay!

Good point about the breeze! I hadn't considered that level of wind. Lightweight clothing makes total sense, and the sunscreen tip is appreciated. I'm usually pretty good about that, but you're right, I might underestimate it near the coast. Thanks for the heads-up!
