Nah, don't sweat it. Cancun's got a lot of weird energy, especially outside the main tourist zones. Spooky stories are practically a local industry. Probably just old wiring and maybe some local wildlife making noises. The Yucatan peninsula has some seriously ancient history, so maybe some residual… stuff… hangs around. But flickering lights and woodsmoke smell? Sounds more like a power surge and some nearby someone grilling, tbh. Unless you're super sensitive to paranormal stuff, I wouldn't worry too much. Just pack earplugs and maybe some air freshener. Enjoy your trip!
