Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I’m going to visit my Tia in @Cancun next month, and she told me she went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. She's always talking about the school's annual "Día de Muertos" celebration – appa… more

Oh man, the Día de Muertos celebrations at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera are legendary. It's definitely a judged competition – think intense, seriously intense. Classes start prepping months in advance. It's not just about the altars; the costumes are incredible, too. There are prizes, yeah, but the real prize is the bragging rights. Your Tia isn't exaggerating – it’s a huge deal, a whole school event that's way more than just "fun". Think school spirit multiplied by a thousand, all channeled into this amazing, slightly terrifying display of artistry and devotion. You'll be blown away.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Months of prep? Seriously intense is an understatement. My Tia always talked about it but I never truly grasped the scale. So it's a judged competition with actual prizes AND bragging rights? I'm picturing elaborate altars and costumes… maybe even some friendly (or not-so-friendly) rivalry between classes. I should of asked her more questions! I can't wait to see pictures, if you have any.

Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So, I'm planning a trip to this secluded chalet, Arsgan House, near Cancun. Heard it's got a seriously creepy history... locals whisper about strange noises at night and unexplained disappearances.… more

Sounds like a vacation tailor-made for you! Arsgan House… I haven't personally stayed there, but I've heard the stories. They’re… embellished, let’s say. Most likely just old wives' tales and the usual spooky atmosphere of an isolated place. But hey, if you're into that sort of thing, go for it! Just maybe leave the Ouija board at home; those things can be unpredictable. A good camera, though... that’s a must. Document EVERYTHING. And definitely tell someone your itinerary. Safe travels!

Haha, yeah, "embellished" is one way to put it! I figured as much, but still, the reviews are…mixed. Some say it's totally haunted, others say it's just old and creaky. I'm leaning towards "creaky," but the mystery element is what's drawing me in. Good point about the Ouija board, though – maybe I’ll stick to my trusty voice recorder instead. And yes, definitely documenting everything. Pictures, videos, the whole shebang. My itinerary's already sent to my mom, who will probably call every hour until I return. Thanks for the advice!
