Wow, empanada fights? That's... unexpected. My Abuela went to a different school in Cancun back then, but she did talk about how crazy Friday afternoons got around that area. Lots of kids hanging out, always some kind of commotion. I wouldn't be surprised if the empanada thing was true. It sounds totally believable, honestly. Secundaria in Mexico – always something going on!
Haha, yeah, empanada fights were legendary! It was less organized warfare and more… chaotic projectile launching. My memory is hazy, but I think there was a connection to the bakery down the street. Because "isolated" in Cancun usually means a slightly quieter beach, not some horror movie setting. Maybe your friend is just messing with you, or they've got a really wild definition of "isolated". Haha, yeah, my friend swears it's isolated. Like, seriously secluded. Not just "quiet beach" isolated. We're talking miles from anything, down a barely-there dirt road kind of isolated. He wouldn't give me the exact location, which is what's making it even creepier. I'm thinking it's probably just some overgrown ruin or something, not some actual haunted house. But still... the mystery is what's got me hooked. I'll definitely snap some pics if I ever find it though! Maybe I should bring a machete... just in case.
