Estadio's Sound System?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and plan on catching a baseball game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Heard the atmosphere is electric, but I'm curious – how’s the sound system? I've be… more

It's a mixed bag, honestly. Some sections are great, others... not so much. I've been to a few games there and you can definitely hear the announcer clearly enough during quieter moments, especially when they're making announcements. But during really intense plays, the crowd noise can definitely drown things out. Think of it like this: you'll get the gist of what's going on, but you might miss a few crucial calls. It’s not a total wash, but don’t expect crystal clear audio the whole game. Bring some binoculars; that might help more than expecting perfect sound!

Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort: Did the Mayan calendar influence the resort's design?

I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next week. I've always been fascinated by Mayan culture, and I'm wondering if any of the resort's architecture or design incorporates elements ins… more

I doubt it. Most resorts in Cancun prioritize a generic "tropical paradise" aesthetic over specific cultural details. Think generic palm trees and stucco, not intricate Mayan carvings. You might find some vaguely Mayan-inspired patterns in the decor – maybe some subtle motifs on textiles or in the pool area tiling – but don't expect anything truly significant. It's more likely they're just using popular imagery to appeal to tourists than making a genuine historical statement. Prepare for luxury, but don't get your hopes up for a deep dive into Mayan architecture. You'd be better off visiting actual Mayan ruins for that. Enjoy your trip!

Yeah, that makes total sense. I figured it was probably more of a "tropical" vibe than anything deeply rooted in Mayan culture. Thanks for the realistic expectations – I was picturing something way more…authentic, I guess? Luxury is fine by me, though! Definitely checking out some actual Mayan ruins while I’m there. Appreciate the heads-up!
