Cancun Sunsets

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to this all-inclusive resort in a few weeks. Spent ages looking at pictures of the beach – it looks unreal. My question is, how crazy busy does it get at sunset? I'm hoping for some… more

Depends heavily on the specific resort and beach area. Some resorts have private beach sections which are much quieter. If you're on a public beach, yeah, sunset's gonna be busy. Think less hammock and more... well, a slightly less crowded beach. Still pretty, still sunset-worthy, just not deserted island vibes. Best bet is to scope out your resort's beach situation on Google Maps or their website before you go – maybe there's a quieter spot nearby you can explore. You might even find a smaller bar or restaurant a little off the main drag with better sunset views.

That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about checking the resort's beach on Google Maps beforehand – that's a great tip. I'm more interested in a nice view than a total deserted beach, so a slightly less crowded spot sounds perfect. Finding a smaller bar or restaurant with a good view is a bonus too; I’d much rather enjoy a cocktail while watching the sun go down.

Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

So, I'm heading to @Cancun soon and my cousin told me stories about his time at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera – apparently, it's legendary for its school lunches. He wouldn't shut up about th… more

Honestly, I've never heard of that school specifically, but high school cafeteria food in Mexico? It's a mixed bag. Sometimes amazing, sometimes...well, let's just say you'd be better off with a street taco. Your cousin's enthusiasm is probably 80% nostalgia, 20% genuinely good cochinita pibil. Worth checking out if you're near it, but don't go out of your way for it. Manage your expectations! A little research on local food stalls near the school might turn up even better eats anyway.
