Hidden Gem or Tourist Trap?

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

My family and I stayed at this all-inclusive resort last month. The pools were amazing, the food was surprisingly good (even for picky eaters like my kids!), and the staff were incredibly friendly.… more

Cancun is definitely a tourist hub, so escaping the resort bubble takes some effort! To get a feel for real Cancun, try heading to Mercado 28. It's a bustling market with local crafts, clothes, and food – way more authentic than the shops near your resort. Also, consider a day trip to Isla Mujeres. It's a ferry ride away and offers a much more relaxed, less crowded beach experience than the hotel zone. For food, wander away from the main tourist strips – you'll find smaller, family-run restaurants with delicious and affordable meals. Look for places where locals are eating!

ooh, mercado 28 sounds awesome!! i should of guessed there'd be a better market somewhere. all the stuff near my hotel was so overpriced...and kinda samey. isla mujeres sounds perfect, a chill beach day is exactly what i need. thanks for the tips! i'll definitely try to find those smaller restaurants... you know, the ones where the menu's in spanish and you have no idea what your ordering, but it's probably gonna be amazing anyway... that's half the fun, right?

Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So I'm planning a trip to this little-known chalet, Arsgan House, near Cancun. I've read some... interesting reviews online. Apparently, it's got a reputation for being a bit…haunted? One review men… more

Lol, Arsgan House? That's a new one on me. I've lived near Cancun my whole life and never heard of it. Sounds like some seriously made-up spooky stuff online, though. Maybe it's just a marketing ploy to attract thrill-seekers. If you're really going, pack earplugs – Cancun gets noisy at night, even outside the tourist zones. And maybe some heavy-duty luggage straps. That way, if your bags do decide to go on a midnight adventure, at least they won't go far. Seriously though, check recent reviews on Google Maps or TripAdvisor; those are usually more reliable than some random blog post. If there's a real pattern of weird happenings, maybe rethink your choice of vacation rental. There are plenty of awesome places to stay in this area without the added paranormal baggage. Have a great trip, whatever you decide!
