Is it haunted?

I went to that school, Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera, for a school trip. It was old, really old, and the whole place felt…off. Like someone was watching. Every creak of the floorboards, ever… more

Cancun's got a vibe, alright. Old buildings down there hold a lot of history, some of it...uncomfortable. Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera sounds like the kind of place that's soaked up decades of stories. That cinnamon smell...weird. Cinnamon isn't exactly a common ghost scent. Maybe it's just the building settling, the wind playing tricks, your imagination running wild. But then again...maybe not. Going back alone? Be careful. Take a friend, at least. And maybe bring some holy water, just in case. You never know what you'll find lurking in the shadows.

Whoa, okay. Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera...I've never heard of it. Cinnamon, huh? That's... unsettling. Definitely not going alone. Holy water? I'll grab some, just to be safe. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll report back... if I make it. 😬

Is the Wifi strong enough?

Spent a week at this all-inclusive resort. The food was great, the beach was gorgeous, but my work calls were constantly dropping. Seriously, I need to work remotely while on vacation...is the wifi… more

Yeah, Cancun's wifi can be… inconsistent, to put it mildly. All-inclusives often prioritize the main areas and sometimes skimp on the bandwidth in rooms. I've had similar experiences in other parts of Mexico. You might find better luck closer to the main lobby or bar area. Or, consider getting a local SIM card with a data plan – it'll probably be cheaper and more reliable than relying solely on resort wifi. Plus, then you can still check out those killer margaritas while seamlessly working.

Ugh, that's a bummer. I was hoping to actually get some work done on this trip, not just fight with the internet. A local SIM card is a good idea; I'll look into that. Thanks for the heads-up!

Estadio Olímpico Mysteries?

So, I'm heading to this stadium in a few weeks for a baseball game. I’ve heard tales, whispers really, of a legendary hot dog vendor who only appears during the 7th inning stretch. He supposedly mak… more

Nah, it's just a fun story people tell. There's no ghost hot dog guy. Though, I've heard some really good things about the food vendors outside the stadium, especially the ones near Gate 3. You'll find plenty to eat, trust me. Prepare for a crowd though, it gets crazy.

Mysterious Arsgan House?

So, I'm planning a trip to this secluded chalet. The photos online are stunning, but they don't really give a feel for the place. I'm wondering, what's the vibe actually like? Is it creepy quiet or… more

It's definitely more "pleasantly peaceful" than "creepy quiet," but that's subjective. The isolation is a big part of the appeal – you'll feel miles from Cancun's hustle. Think secluded beach vibes, but with a more upscale, minimalist feel. Solo travelers should be fine; I felt perfectly safe. Just be prepared for some serious downtime – there's not a lot to do there besides relax and enjoy the scenery. Pack a good book.

Sounds lovely, actually. That "serious downtime" part is exactly what I'm after. Been needing a proper unplug. Glad to hear about the safety aspect – solo female traveler here. Thanks for the heads-up on the book! I'll definitely be packing one, or maybe even two.

Estadio Olímpico Mysteries?

So I'm heading to this stadium next week for a game, it's supposed to be a big deal. Heard tales of crazy passionate fans, almost ritualistic pre-game stuff. Anyone been to a match there? What's th… more

Oh man, Cancun's stadium during a big game? It's… something else. Forget the usual stadium noise; it's a wall of sound. Think a thousand mariachis amped up on espresso and tequila. The pre-game stuff is intense – serious chanting, flags everywhere, people practically vibrating with energy. It's less ritualistic and more… a collective frenzy. Seriously, if you're not into that sort of thing, you might find it overwhelming. But if you like your football with a side of pure, unadulterated passion, you'll be in heaven. Just be prepared to get swept up in it. It's a real experience.

Estadio's Sound System?

I'm going to a concert at this massive stadium next month. It's supposed to be HUGE. My friend went to a soccer match there last year and said the sound was... well, let's just say inconsistent. Som… more

Ugh, Cancun stadium sound? That's a gamble, honestly. My experience at a similar-sized venue down in Playa del Carmen was… a rollercoaster. Crystal clear one minute, then like someone threw a blanket over the speakers the next. I wouldn't hold my breath for a massive improvement, but maybe they've tweaked things a bit. Fingers crossed for you, that's a lot of money for a potentially muddy concert experience. Maybe bring earplugs, just in case? Better safe than sorry!

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. A rollercoaster of sound is exactly what I don't need at a concert. Thanks for the heads-up; earplugs are definitely going in the bag now. It's a pricey ticket, so hoping for the best but prepared for the worst… Maybe I'll check if anyone's posted recent reviews online before I go.

Secundaria Memories?

So, I'm planning a trip back to my old high school in @Mexico. It's been, what, fifteen years? Crazy. I remember the crazy murals in the courtyard, always changing... the smell of the tacos from t… more

Man, fifteen years is a long time! Things change so fast. Those benches? Probably not. High schools in @Mexico are constantly getting renovations, or at least, the ones I've seen. They're probably replaced with some…modern, uncomfortable things. But hey, the spirit of those benches – the nap-inducing magic – that's probably still there, even if the wood isn't. Maybe you'll find a new spot to claim as your own nap throne.

Cancun can be spooky sometimes, especially at night. That's a seriously creepy story though. Three nights in a row? Maybe it was just the wind playing tricks on you, but...the abrupt stopping part is what gets me. Sounds like something straight out of a bad horror movie. Have you tried looking into the history of the Arsgan House itself? Local legends or anything like that? Sometimes, old buildings in @Cancun just… hold things. You know? I wouldn't rule out just plain old weirdness, though. Definitely share if you find anything out.

Best view from Arsgan House?

I rented Arsgan House for a week. The place was stunning, seriously. Incredible views, totally worth it. But the wifi… oh my god, the wifi was worse than dial-up. I tried everything – restarting t… more

Yeah, the Arsgan House views are insane, I totally get you. Worth every penny, even with the wifi debacle. I stayed there last spring and had the exact same problem. It was like they were broadcasting the signal from the bottom of a cenote. My solution? I just went to a cafe for a few hours each day. Lots of great little places nearby with decent wifi, grabbed a coffee and got my uploads done. Problem solved!

Cozy Chalet Quirks?

I spent a week at this amazing chalet in the Riviera Maya. Absolutely stunning views, the architecture was incredible, a total escape. But the kitchen... it was almost impossibly tiny! I'm a pretty… more

Oh man, that sounds idyllic except for the kitchen! Riviera Maya chalets are often built for aesthetics, not culinary acrobatics, I've found. You're not alone. Think vertical! Magnetic knife strips on the wall save tons of drawer space. Also, those little over-the-sink colanders? Game changer. They don't take up counter space while you're prepping. Seriously consider a small, shallow rolling cart for extra prep space and storage – wheeling it out when needed, tucking it away when not. And if you're really keen, look into those corner shelves – they're specifically designed for those awkward kitchen spaces. Might be worth a look online before your next trip. You'd be surprised what you can find!

That leaky roof? Dude, it's still there. I saw it myself last year. They patched it up a few times, but it’s a lost cause. They should just replace the whole thing. Those history books probably still have water stains. Bet they've added some new security cameras though... those weren't around back in our day.
