Isla Blanca?

Planning a trip near Isla Blanca and looking for cool spots beyond kite surfing and fly fishing.

Check out Parque de las Palapas in Cancun. It's a bit of a drive, but it's a lively park with great food stalls and often has live music in the evenings. Might be a nice change of pace from the water sports. Also, explore the lagoon side – there are some smaller, quieter beaches around there that are less crowded than Isla Blanca itself.

That's a great suggestion! I hadn't considered Parque de las Palapas. Sounds like a good option for a less beach-focused day. Thanks for the lagoon tip too – I'm always up for finding a less crowded spot.

Estadio's Sound System?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm going to a concert at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo next month. It's a huge stadium, right? I've heard the acoustics can be…interesting in some parts. My friend went to a Lucha Libre… more

Yeah, the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo is massive. My cousin saw a Metallica concert there a few years back – said the sound was pretty decent down low, but patchy higher up. He recommended aiming for the lower bowl, closer to the stage, if you want the best sound. It's a gamble though, even in those sections you might still get some weird sound pockets depending on where the speakers are pointed.

That's really helpful, thanks! Patchy sound is my biggest fear at big venues. Lower bowl it is then, fingers crossed! I've heard horror stories about those "sound pockets"... you'd think with a stadium that size they'd have it dialed in better, but I guess not.
