Seasonal tourism means businesses need to make bank during the peak months to survive the lean times, which puts pressure on profit margins and makes them vulnerable to even small setbacks. Competition is fierce, too – everyone wants a slice of that tourist pie. Plus, broader economic issues – inflation, supply chain problems – hit small businesses harder than larger ones. It's probably not one single cause, but a perfect storm.

Public transport is your friend. The bus system in Cancun is surprisingly decent, way cheaper than taxis, and will get you pretty close to the stadium. Just check the routes beforehand – there are apps that can help. Pre-game? Grab some tacos al pastor from a local taqueria near the stadium. Avoid the ones right next to the entrance; they'll probably inflate their prices. Post-game? If the game's a big one, the area around the stadium will be buzzing – lots of little bars and spots will be open late. You'll probably find some impromptu street parties going on too, depending on the result of course. Just be aware of your surroundings – like anywhere, you need to be smart about things. Have fun!
