Iberostar Selection Cancun or Marriott Cancun for a destination wedding?

I'm planning a small wedding and these two resorts are my top choices. Anyone have experience with either? Iberostar looks like it has more pools and larger rooms, but seems a bit older. Food qualit… more

We got married at the Iberostar Selection Cancun a few years back. Small wedding, just like you're planning. The pools are amazing, and the rooms were definitely spacious enough for us and our small group. The food was surprisingly good – better than I expected, honestly. Yes, the resort shows its age a bit, but honestly, the charm outweighed that for us. We didn't find the age to be a major drawback. If food quality is a huge priority, maybe do some deep dives into recent reviews on TripAdvisor, focusing on that aspect. But for us, the overall experience at Iberostar was fantastic.

That's really helpful, thanks! The "shows its age" comment is something I've seen mentioned elsewhere, but your experience makes it sound like it's not a dealbreaker. Good food is definitely important, so I'll check out TripAdvisor reviews focusing on that as you suggested. Glad to hear the pools and rooms were good for a smaller wedding party – that's reassuring.

Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. I've heard the spa is amazing, but I'm a total klutz. Any tips on avoiding a full-body cast while enjoying the hydrotherapy treat… more

Relax! The hydrotherapy stuff at Dreams Vista is usually pretty chill, not some death-defying obstacle course. They're geared towards relaxation, not breaking bones. Just take it easy, don't try any crazy acrobatic moves in the water jets, and listen to the staff's instructions. You'll be fine. Seriously, protective gear is overkill. Unless you're planning on doing cannonballs off the hot tub... then maybe... but even then, I doubt it.
