Upscale Dinner Near Secrets The Vine

My wife and I are staying at Secrets The Vine next month and want a nice, nearby restaurant for a special night out. Harry's is too expensive (over $500 for two!), so we're looking for alternatives w… more

Check out Lorenzillo's. It's known for its lobster, a bit touristy, but the location is stunning and the food is generally considered excellent for a special occasion. It might be slightly above your budget depending on what you order, but it's closer to Secrets The Vine than Harry's. Worth looking at their menu online beforehand to get a better idea of pricing.

Lorenzillo's is a good shout! I've heard mixed things about the "touristy" aspect, but the ocean views are undeniably gorgeous. Checking the menu online first is definitely smart – lobster can get pricey, fast. Thanks for the tip!

Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and my Tia Elena told me she went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. She’s always raving about the school’s annual Dia de Muertos celebration. Apparently, it… more

Wow, that sounds incredible! Your Tia Elena is right to be so enthusiastic. I don't have firsthand experience with the Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera Dia de Muertos celebration, but I've heard whispers... The Alebrije parade is apparently huge – way more elaborate than most. People go all out with their creations, often incorporating moving parts and even sound effects. The "performance that leaves people in tears" is supposedly a theatrical piece, a kind of folkloric play re-enacting legends or historical events from the region, often with very powerful storytelling and music. It's not just about the visuals; the emotional depth is what makes it unforgettable, I hear. Try contacting the school directly – their website might have past event photos or information. Good luck! You're in for a treat.
