Yeah, mosquitoes are a thing in the Yucatan, no doubt. Playa del Carmen can be brutal. Dreams Vista should be pretty good about mosquito control, given it's a high-end resort. They'll likely have some sort of pest control program going. Still, it's never a guarantee. Besides DEET, consider bringing some citronella candles or a portable mosquito repellent device – those battery-powered fans that also dispense repellent. Pack long sleeves and pants for evenings, just in case. And maybe some after-bite stuff, because even with precautions, you might get a few bites. Don't let the mozzies ruin your trip though; Cancun is awesome!
