oh the hospital itself is pretty well known but the courtyard thing might be the old temple hall tucked behind the main building. it's not really advertised but if u walk around the back side near the jalan pudu entrance there's a small open area with some original timber carvings and old well. the building was originally a chinese medical hall in the 1880s before it became a hospital so that courtyard was probably part of the original compound. just be respectful if u go poking around since it's still a working hospital. the lighting there around 4pm is pretty nice for photos btw

I haven't heard about a hidden courtyard, but the main building itself is pretty stunning, that old colonial architecture is seriously something. It's definitely worth a wander around the outside, at least. Maybe check out some old photos online, sometimes you can find historical images that show details not easily visible now. yeah theres a small ancestral hall on the first floor near the old wing, most ppl just walk past it thinkin its a supply closet or somethin. my aunt used to work there and she said that area has these really intricate chinese lattice windows that are prob original from the 1800s. also if u go up to the roof level around the back staircase there's a tiny balcony area that overlooks the old kampung style rooftops on jalan sultan, kinda hidden cause theres no sign for it. just be quiet and don't block the corridors, nurses get annoyed fast

good guide, but the real move for budget eating is the food court at mid valley basement, lot 10 hutong is tourist pricing now. you can get a proper claypot chicken rice for RM6 there and it's legit. also, for the KLCC park, go at 7pm when they do the fountain light show, it's free and way better than paying for the towers view
