Lost in Time

fmd_good National Museum

I spent three hours at the National Museum last week, completely engrossed. The exhibits on Malaysian history were incredible, especially the section on the sultanates. But I got so focused I comple… more

Yeah, the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur is a total time warp! I've done the same thing – totally lost myself in the exhibits and then panicked about being late. Maybe try setting alarms on your phone for when you need to leave? Or, even better, plan to spend a slightly shorter time there than you think you’ll need, that way, you'll have a buffer. It's a great museum, but gotta keep that Grab waiting time in mind! It's a first-world problem but still annoying as heck.

Oh my gosh, totally get that! I spent so long looking at the jade collection, I completely lost track of time. Setting alarms is a genius idea, I never even thought of that. Thanks for the tip! And yeah, that Grab waiting fee is a killer... It's a beautiful museum though, so worth it even with the near-panic attack at the end. Next time I'll be more disciplined about my time management!

Alustil's Secret?

fmd_good Alustil

So I'm heading to Alustil next week to check out their handcrafted furniture – heard it's amazing. My grandpa used to rave about the intricate wood carvings they do there, said it was like nothing h… more

Yeah, Alustil's stuff is seriously gorgeous. Your grandpa wasn't kidding. Those carvings are insane. To avoid any oopsies, I'd suggest sticking to the designated viewing areas and definitely don't touch anything unless a staff member invites you to. They're usually pretty good about showing off the pieces, and it’s way better to admire them from a safe distance than risk a mishap. Plus, they probably have gloves or something for handling the pieces. Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty. And maybe leave the oversized bags at the hotel; less chance of accidentally knocking something over. Enjoy your visit! It'll be worth it.
