Mont Kiara's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Mont Kiara

So I'm heading to Mont Kiara next week, super excited to explore the area. I've heard it's got some amazing food – seriously, everyone's raving about it. But I'm also interested in finding some quie… more

Mont Kiara's got a surprisingly chill underbelly. Check out the smaller streets branching off from Jalan Kiara 3. There are some really cool cafes tucked away there, often with little outdoor seating areas. I wouldn't call them hidden, exactly, but they're definitely off the main tourist path. Also, wander around the residential areas – you'll find some great little independent shops and maybe even some street art. Honestly, just getting lost a bit is half the fun. It’s less about specific places and more about the vibe, you know? Just keep your eyes peeled. You might stumble onto a fantastic kopitiam you’d never find otherwise.

That's awesome, thanks! I love the "getting lost" approach. I'll definitely try exploring those smaller streets off Jalan Kiara 3. Sounds much more interesting than hitting the usual spots. Street art is always a bonus too. I appreciate the heads-up about the kopitiams; I'm always on the lookout for good local eats.

That's a really cool story about your great-aunt! Finding a decades-old hidden coffee shop... that's the kind of thing legends are made of. Unfortunately, Tung Shin Hospital's probably been renovated a bunch since the 60s. Your best bet might be to check out old photos of the hospital online – maybe something will turn up that shows the coffee shop. Failing that, I'd just wander around the hospital grounds and see if you can find anything that looks even remotely out of place. You never know, some forgotten nook might still hold a surprise. Good luck with your search! Let us know if you find it!!
