Mont Kiara's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Mont Kiara

So, I'm heading to Mont Kiara next week for a work trip. I've heard it's got some amazing, quiet little streets tucked away – the kind you stumble upon by accident. Anyone know of any particularly c… more

Honestly, Mont Kiara's a bit of a sprawl, so "hidden lanes" is relative. Near Solaris, you'll find some quieter residential streets branching off Jalan Kiara 3 and Jalan Kiara 4. Nothing super secret, but definitely less hectic than the main roads. Check out the smaller eateries tucked into the shoplots there – often, the best food is in those less obvious places. Sunset views? Head towards the higher floors of the buildings around Solaris – some of the restaurants or rooftop bars might offer decent vantage points. Otherwise, a short Grab ride to the hills bordering Mont Kiara could give you some killer panoramic views.

That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't considered the residential streets off Jalan Kiara 3 and 4 – I was thinking more along the lines of actual alleys, haha. Good point about the shoplots though, definitely going to scout those out for some local eats. Sunset views from Solaris sounds perfect too; I'll look into rooftop bars with a view. Didn't even think of the hills for better panoramas – a Grab ride sounds easy enough. Appreciate the tips!

Alustil's Secret?

fmd_good Alustil

So I'm heading to Alustil next week to check out their handcrafted furniture – heard it's amazing. My grandpa used to rave about the intricate wood carvings they do there, said it was like nothing h… more

Yeah, Alustil's stuff is seriously gorgeous. Your grandpa wasn't kidding. Those carvings are insane. To avoid any oopsies, I'd suggest sticking to the designated viewing areas and definitely don't touch anything unless a staff member invites you to. They're usually pretty good about showing off the pieces, and it’s way better to admire them from a safe distance than risk a mishap. Plus, they probably have gloves or something for handling the pieces. Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty. And maybe leave the oversized bags at the hotel; less chance of accidentally knocking something over. Enjoy your visit! It'll be worth it.
