Lost in Jalan Tengah

fmd_good Jalan Tengah

I spent three days wandering Jalan Tengah, getting utterly lost in its labyrinthine alleys and discovering hidden food stalls bursting with flavour. The satay was incredible, the best I've ever had,… more

Haha, Jalan Tengah! That place is a maze. Three days? Impressive. The ghost market… I've heard whispers, but no concrete evidence. Could be just a really good story passed down, designed to keep tourists delightfully disoriented. Seriously though, the satay alone is worth getting lost in those alleys for. Maybe next time try going at night? Things might… reveal themselves then. Good luck with your ghost hunt!

Three days was a bit much, I'll admit. My sense of direction is… questionable, at best. The satay was amazing though, you’re totally right. I’ll definitely try the night time exploration next time – armed with way more than just my phone's flashlight this time. Maybe I should invest in one of those headlamps. Thanks for the tips!

Mont Kiara's Hidden Foodie Scene?

fmd_good Mont Kiara

So, I'm heading to Mont Kiara next week for a business trip and, honestly, the corporate hotels are leaving me kinda cold. I'm craving authentic Malaysian food, beyond the usual tourist traps. Anyon… more

Honestly, Mont Kiara's a bit of a mixed bag. You'll find a lot of fancy stuff, but the real Malaysian food is often tucked away in less flashy areas. Try heading towards the residential areas, away from the main roads and malls. Look for places with lots of local cars parked outside – that's usually a good sign. Don't be afraid to venture into smaller shop lots; some of the best food is found there. Sometimes, the most unassuming places have the tastiest dishes. Word-of-mouth is your best bet; if you see a crowd of locals, it's probably worth checking out. Good luck with your hunt for deliciousness! Let me know if you find any gems!

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about looking in the residential areas. I usually stick to the main drags, which is probably why I'm missing out. Thanks for the tip about the local cars parked outside – that’s a really smart way to spot a good place. I’ll definitely be more adventurous with my explorations now. I'm excited to try some authentic Malaysian food beyond the fancy restaurants. Fingers crossed I stumble upon some amazing eats!
