KL Bird Park Food?

fmd_good Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

So I spent the morning at this amazing bird park, totally worth it. Saw a hornbill practically steal a mango right out of someones hand… hilarious! But I was starving by noon and the food options s… more

Yeah, the food inside KL Bird Park is… well, let's just say it's there. There are a few cafes around the Lake Gardens area though. You could have easily walked over to one of those for something better. Next time, maybe check out some reviews on Google Maps before you go – tons of options within walking distance, from hawker stalls to fancier places. You'd probably find something much more exciting than a sad sandwich.

Totally get that! The sandwich was sad. Seriously, looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since the dinosaurs roamed. I should of known better than to trust park food. Good tip about checking Google Maps beforehand – I'll definitely do that next time. Thanks for the Lake Gardens suggestion too; next time I'll make the effort to walk over there. Lesson learned!

Tung Shin's Secret?

fmd_good Tung Shin Hospital

So I'm heading to @KualaLumpur next month and I'm staying near Tung Shin Hospital. My grandma used to talk about it – she said it was a really grand old place, even back in the day. Apparently, it's… more

Tung Shin Hospital? That's a cool place to base yourself. It's not exactly crawling with ghosts, but its age definitely lends itself to some interesting whispers. I've heard stories – maybe apocryphal, maybe not – about its role during the Japanese occupation. Apparently, there were some… less-than-savory things going on there then, though I can't give you specifics. It’s worth exploring the surrounding area too; the architecture in that part of KL is gorgeous, and you might stumble upon some old photos or historical markers that paint a fuller picture. Look for older shop houses nearby – they often have these incredible stories etched into their very foundations. Enjoy your trip!

Wow, thanks! That's way more interesting than I expected. Less-than-savory things during the occupation... I'll definitely be on the lookout for anything hinting at that. I hadn't even considered the architecture – I'm usually all about the weird stuff, haha. But you're right, exploring the area around the hospital sounds like a great idea. I'll see if I can find some old photos online beforehand to get a feel for it. Appreciate the tips!
