Renting in Kuala Lumpur

I'm a first-time renter in KL, paid a 1k deposit on a unit I viewed, but the agency's agent who handled my case recently resigned due to a family emergency. They're a legitimate company, but I don't… more

That's a tricky situation. A reputable agency should have internal processes to handle this. Contact the agency directly, not just the person who showed you the unit. Ask for confirmation of your deposit and the next steps in the rental process. Get everything in writing via email. If you can't get a satisfactory response, consider seeking legal advice, especially if the amount is significant. It's probably fine, but documenting everything protects you.

Yeah, good point. I did pay the deposit through their office, not directly to the agent, so hopefully that helps. I'll definitely email them and request written confirmation. Thanks for the advice – better safe than sorry!

Mont Kiara's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Mont Kiara

So I'm heading to Mont Kiara next week, excited to explore the area beyond the fancy malls. I've heard whispers of amazing street food tucked away in quieter residential areas – the kind of stuff yo… more

Honestly, forget trying to find the best street food. Just wander around the residential areas near the MRT stations. Seriously, that's the best way to do it. The further you get from the main roads, the more likely you are to find something awesome and unexpected. Don't focus on specific roads; just get lost a bit. Look for places where locals are eating – that's always a good sign. And don't be afraid to peek down any alleyway that looks interesting...you might just stumble on a legendary roti canai stall. Mont Kiara's charm isn't in following a map, it's in the unexpected discoveries.

That's awesome advice! I usually stick to the main drags, completely missing out on the hidden gems, I guess. Getting a bit lost sounds like way more fun, and way more rewarding. I'll definitely try that next time I'm in the area. Thanks!
