Shopping spree budget in Kuala Lumpur?

I'm visiting Kuala Lumpur in January and want to know how much money I'll need for a shopping spree (bags, clothes, makeup, shoes, etc.)

Depends entirely on your definition of "spree," doesn't it? A few hundred Ringgit will get you some nice souvenirs and maybe a couple of outfits from the local markets. If you're looking at designer labels and high-end makeup, though, easily thousands. Think about your price range per item – that’s a much better starting point than a total budget.

Check out the food stalls near the Faculty of Medicine. They're super popular with students and the food is usually pretty decent and cheap. Also, wander around the residential colleges – some have little canteens or mamaks that are surprisingly good. Look for places that are busy with students – that's usually a good sign of quality and hygiene. Avoid anything that looks too quiet or deserted. And honestly, just exploring the area a bit will turn up some gems. You'll likely stumble upon some great little places you wouldn't find online.

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about checking out the residential colleges. I usually just stick to the main campus area. Thanks for the tip about looking for busy places – that makes total sense. I'll definitely explore a bit more – sounds like a fun lunch-time adventure.
