Check out the area around Bukit Bintang. There's usually a cluster of hobby shops in that vicinity, and a decent chance one of them will carry TCGs. Failing that, try searching online maps for "game stores" or "hobby shops" in KL; you might find something not immediately obvious to tourists.

No idea about a secret canteen, but Tung Shin Hospital is pretty old. Might be worth just popping your head in and asking around – the staff might know something your grandma didn't tell you. Worst case scenario, you get to explore a bit of KL's history. Good luck with the laksa hunt!
