solo traveling for 4 days. what area would you recommend that is close to everything. is there a 'condessa' (of cdmx), palermo (buenos aires), khao san (bangkok) of KL? i like good local food,… more

Bukit Bintang is probably your best bet. It's central, has tons of food options (from hawker stalls to fancy restaurants), and a lively atmosphere. You'll find plenty of hostels and hotels there, some with rooftop pools, so you can easily tick that box. It's not exactly a Khao San Road equivalent, but it's got a similar vibe in terms of being a hub for activity and meeting people.

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park Horror Story?

fmd_good Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

So I went to the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park last week, right? It was amazing, the hornbills were HUGE. But then, near the end, I got separated from my friend... I swear, I've never seen so many parrots… more

Nah, no bird attacks for me, but I did see a dude trying to feed a ridiculously oversized cockatoo a whole sausage roll. The bird looked unimpressed, the guy looked distraught. It was oddly hilarious. The feather thing is weird though... maybe a bird died of natural causes? Or maybe it's a sign you should buy a lottery ticket. You never know. KL Bird Park is awesome but yeah, the sheer number of parrots is intense. It's like they're plotting something...

Haha, that sausage roll story is gold! I can totally picture it. Distraught dude, unimpressed cockatoo... classic. Yeah, the sheer number of birds is intense. It feels a little overwhelming sometimes, like they're judging my fashion choices or something. The feather thing... I'm leaning towards natural causes, but the lottery ticket idea is tempting. Might just have to go buy one now!
