Wander a few lanes over to Lebuh Victoria and you'll find some quieter murals that don't have the queues, plus a couple of hidden metal-rod caricatures that are easy to miss. For food, skip Gurney Plaza and grab a table at the New Lane Hawker Centre instead, it's less touristy and the oyster omelette there is better than what you'll get on Chulia. Also, if you're doing Penang Hill, buy your funicular ticket online the night before, the queue at the station can easily eat an hour of your morning.
