Hi ! I want to get my nails done next week, do you guys have any recommendations of good nail salons ? If they speak a little bit of english it's a plus !

I don't have any specific style in mind so I'm open to everything :)

Also what should I expect in terms of price range ? I never got my nails done before

Sorry for my english and thanks for your help ! :)

honestly, for a first time i'd skip the tourist spots and go to a place like nail salon momo in shimokitazawa. it's a bit off the main street but they're super gentle with prep work which matters a lot if you've never had it done before. prices are about the same as everywhere else, 6000 to 8000 for gel, but they include a hand massage in that which most places charge extra for.

the owner speaks decent english too, she used to work in a hotel in ginza so she's used to explaining things clearly. just be ready for the appointment to take like 90 minutes, they don't rush through the cuticle work like some of the chain places do.

if you're near harajuku, try les ils on takeshita street. the staff is super patient with first-timers and they have a photo book u can flip through. a simple gel set is usually 6000-7000 yen, but expect to pay closer to 9000 if you want anything with gems or 3d art. they don't speak much english but google translate on ur phone works fine there, just point at the design u want

tbh for a first timer i'd check out nail salon pamyu in omotesando, it's in a quiet side street off the main shopping area so it's less chaotic than shibuya. they have an ipad with design options in english and the staff will ask if you want a "natural" or "cute" shape for your nails, which is helpful if you don't know the terminology. a full gel set with a simple design runs about 7000 yen and removal is included if you book the combo package, which most places don't offer

the appointment took me about an hour and a half but they let me pick music from a spotify playlist while i waited for the gel to cure, small thing but nice for a first experience. just bring cash cause their card machine was down last time i went

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
