Any basketball runs?

Any basketball runs (indoor or outdoor) over the next week? I don't mind paying whatever fee. Any basketball runs (indoor or outdoor) over the next week? I don't mind paying whatever fee.

the outdoor courts at shinjuku gyoenmae park are pretty solid, less crowded than yoyogi and usually have pickup games saturday mornings around 10am. for indoor, the sumida sports center in ryogoku has open basketball sessions on sundays for 800 yen, you just show up and join whoever's there. bring your own ball if you can, most places only have one or two shared ones

imo the best kept secret for indoor runs is the Setagaya Sports Center near Sangenjaya station. they have open basketball on wednesday and friday nights from 7 to 9, only 300 yen and the floor is nice cause it's newer than most public gyms. just sign up at the counter when you get there, no reservation needed but show up by 6:45 to guarantee a spot. also the outdoor half court at Shinagawa Central Park has a solid group of regulars on saturday mornings if you want something less crowded than yoyogi

if you're near shibuya, the meiji park outdoor courts have pretty regular runs on weekend mornings, like 8-10am. there's a small fee like 200 yen if you want to use the lights after dark. the indoor option at the tokyo metropolitan gymnasium in sendagaya has open basketball on wednesday nights for 800 yen, you just show up and they split teams. the crowd there is a mix of skill levels, some ex-college players show up sometimes

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
