media cafe popo in ikebukuro is pretty overlooked but it's actually better than the akihabara one imo. less crowded and the gaming booths have the 144hz monitors still, just check the seat numbers before paying. also if you're near shibuya the manboo on meiji-dori has a specific e-sports floor that's usually empty during weekday afternoons, 400 yen for 30 mins but worth it for the quiet
yeah the manboo places are solid but if you want something quieter try gera gera in takadanobaba. they've got a full gaming floor with proper soundproofing and the keyboads are actually clean. runs val at like 200fps no problem, 500 yen for the first hour but the overnight set is 2000 from 10pm. only downside is the drink bar closes at 2am so grab your coffee early

honestly the guide nailed it but i'd throw in nakameguro for anyone visiting in spring. the canal walk during cherry blossom season is insane, way less crowded than ueno or shinjuku gyoen. plus there's a killer onigiri spot called Onigiri Bongo that sells out by noon, and the area has a ton of tiny wine bars and vintage shops. rooms at the Claska hotel start around $120 and it's a quick hop to shibuya on the tokyu line
