you should check out the card shops in shibuya honestly, theres a small place called card labo on the second floor of a building near the shibuya crossing that nobody talks about. they have a ton of modern japanese sets in sealed booster boxes for pretty fair prices, like 5000 yen for a box of some recent stuff which is cheaper than akihabara. for vintage your best bet is the mandarake in shibuya too, they have a basement floor with graded cards and old promos, their website has an english toggle but its clunky. most shops here use cash or paypay so have some yen ready

honestly for vintage stuff you gotta hit up Akihabara but skip the big tourist traps like Yellow Submarine on the main drag. instead go to Card Kingdom or the smaller shops on the backstreets near the station, they have binders full of old Japanese holos for way less. most shops have English search on their sites but tbh the best deals are found in person where u can haggle a bit if you buy multiple cards. just bring cash, a lot of these places are cash only or charge extra for card payments.

ngl the best kept secret for pokemon cards in tokyo is the hobby shops in ikebukuro. sunshine city's animate has a decent selection but head to the yellow submarine there instead, they rotate stock fast and sometimes have mispriced vintage stuff in the glass cases. for english search, most japanese shops use yahoo shopping or mercari as their web front so just search those sites in english, the cards show up by set name usually. nakano and akihabara are fine but ikebukuro is way less picked over on weekdays

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
