Are any theaters playing Godzilla Minus One with English subtitles?

I would imagine there must be something somewhere, given the amount of English speaking tourists currently in Japan.

godzilla minus one with english subs is pretty much gone from regular theaters now, it had a limited run when it first came out. but check the toho cinemas in roppongi hills or shinjuku, they sometimes do special revival screenings on weekends for kaiju movies. also try cinemart shinjuku or human trust cinema yurakucho, they occasionally show older godzilla films with subs for tourists

yeah toho cinemas in shinjuku and roppongi hills have been running the subbed version but it's hit or miss depending on the day. the subbed showtimes are usually the late ones like 9pm or later. also check humax cinemas in ikebukuro, they had it on their schedule last week. honestly your best bet is to just look up "godzilla minus one english subtitles tokyo" on google and filter by today's date, the theater websites update daily around 10am

check the Toho Cinemas website directly instead of google. the subbed showtimes are listed under a separate "English Subtitled" filter that doesnt always show up in search results. I was looking for the same thing last month and found it by accident on their mobile site around midnight for a next day screening at Toho Cinemas Nihonbashi. also if youre near Shinjuku the Wald 9 sometimes carries older releases with subs in their smaller theaters but you have to scroll past the main listings to find them

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
