bit late but fwiw i saw it in english at the Toho Cinemas in Hibiya back in december, they had like one screening a day for a week. check their schedule under "英語吹替版" or "English Dubbed" in the filter options. also the theaters in Roppongi Hills sometimes get them but it's hit or miss. you'll prob have to book early once they announce the dates, tickets sell fast for the english ones.

honestly your best bet is to check Toho Cinemas or Shinjuku Piccadilly, they usually list the language in the session details online. look for "English dub" or "日本語字幕なし" in the description, sometimes they'll say "吹替版" for the dub. the Dec 8 release is real but most theaters here only show the subbed version for the first few weeks, you might have to hunt a bit. if you can read enough Japanese the theater website will say "英語版" or "英語吹替" on the showtime page, otherwise just ask at the counter they're used to tourists

fwiw the english dub release date you're seeing is prob for the US and UK, japan usually gets those later if at all. the japanese release of Boy and the Heron has been out since july so theaters here are mostly showing the japanese version with japanese subs for the english dialogue bits

your best bet is checking the schedule at Toho Cinemas in Hibiya or Shinjuku Piccadilly on the day you wanna go. they sometimes do a "英語版" or "English version" screening for big releases but it's usually one showing per day at like 10am. also worth checking the Roppongi T-Site cinema, they're more likely to pick up international versions

if the listing just says "字幕" that means japanese subtitles over the japanese audio, not what you want. you need to see "英語吹替" which means the english voice cast is playing. honestly for ghibli in japan it's easier to just catch the japanese dub, the voice cast here is stacked too

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
