which stores in Tokyo sell decent hair dryers for good price ? or is it better to order on Amazon?

I feel like if I go to bic or yamada it's gonna be expensive I feel like if I go to bic or yamada it's gonna be expensive

if you're near shinjuku, check out the bic camera across from the station - the one in the lumine building. they have a small outlet section in the basement where they sell display models and returns. got a sharp hot & cool dryer there for 4000 last year, box was a bit beat up but the thing works fine. amazon's decent for price comparison but the shipping fees on dryers can eat into the savings, especially if you don't have prime

honestly bic camera and yamada are fine if you hit the right floor. the home appliance section is usually a few floors up and they have a budget corner with last year's models. i got a decent panasonic nanoe for like 5000 yen there.

amazon jp is good but check if it's sold by amazon directly or a third party. the third party ones sometimes add shipping or have weird return policies. also some dryers on amazon are marked up because they're "imported" models from overseas.

if you're near akihabara there's a smaller shop called yodobashi camera that's usually less crowded. their staff can show you the cheaper options without the sales push. just avoid the main floor with all the new releases.

yeah bic and yamada can be pricey if you go straight to the new stuff. try the bic camera in ikebukuro near the sunshine exit, they have a clearance section in the back corner of the home appliance floor. i grabbed a reconditioned panasonic nanoe for 3800 there a few months ago, just had a tiny scratch on the handle.

amazon is fine but the shipping on dryers is annoying if you're not prime. also some of the cheap ones on there are 100v rated for 120v markets and run a bit weak here. if you see a model number ending in -W or -P it's usually the japan spec, anything else might be parallel import.

one thing nobody mentioned - loft has a small appliance section sometimes. the one in shibuya had a clearance rack with a sharp dryer for 3000 last week, just the box was crushed. worth a peek if you're in the area.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
