Best quiet coffee near Brew Lab in Tokyo 2026
If you want actual silence, skip Kuramae and walk 10 min to Kissa Aoi near Kotobashi, old-school kissaten, no music, cash only.
Agree, though the owner closes at 5 sharp.
Monday too, shutters down by 4:45.
Shutters are down by then but she'll still pour you a hand drip if you knock before 4:30, just don't count on the register being open.
last order 4:30 tho, she starts stacking chairs
Five sharp is right, but she starts dimming the lights about twenty minutes before, so the room feels closed earlier than it is.
Morishita station exit, that back lane.
the tamago sando sells out by noon
Good call on the no music thing, but the smoke gets thick in there after 2 so sit near the door.
owner's wife does the siphon after 3, ask for her
Tokyo tourist attraction prices for foreigners 2026
most city-run spots stay free or close to it, tbh. ueno zoo is like 600 yen, and that's the same whether ur foreign or not. budget for food and trains instead, that's where the money actually goes
Agree, trains and food are the real budget drain.
Shinjuku Gyoen is 500 yen and pricier for non-residents now
Fair point on food and trains eating the budget. One thing though, Ueno Zoo bumped to 600 yen flat for adults a while back and it's the same desk price for everyone. Same story at places like Edo-Tokyo Museum, no tourist tier.
The TMG observatory is free for everyone, foreigner or not, just queue at the south entrance before 8:30am.
Yeah, still free and no foreigner surcharge. Just bring ID for the security check and note the north observatory closes earlier, so aim for the south one if you're going late.
also skip the observatory cafe, walk 5 min to the 7-Eleven on the B1 level for coffee instead
FamilyMart on the 32nd floor is closer.
B1 shop shuts at 5pm on weekends so hit the vending machines on the 2nd floor instead
