That's a really interesting theory about the importers! I hadn't thought of that. It's a pretty specialized basket, though – woven from some kind of unusual grass, and the handles are…odd. Almost like they're made from some kind of polished bone? I'm stumped. The cheese underground movement idea is certainly more exciting, though. I might have to start investigating.
