Shinjuku Sleepless?

fmd_good Toyoko Inn Shinjuku Kabukicho

Stayed at the Toyoko Inn Shinjuku Kabukicho last week. The location's AMAZING, right in the heart of the Kabukicho district. So much going on all night long! Seriously, I could hear people outside… more

Yeah, Kabukicho is always like that. It's not just your hotel, it's the entire neighborhood. Think Times Square, but with pachinko parlors and hostess clubs. If you want a quieter stay in Tokyo next year, you'll definitely need to look elsewhere. Shibuya or Ginza might be better options if you want less noise. Even within Shinjuku, there are quieter pockets – just avoid Kabukicho if peace and quiet are priorities.

Wow, thanks! Kabukicho sounds... intense. I figured it wasn't just my hotel, but that's helpful to know it's the whole area. Times Square is a pretty good comparison, I can picture it now. Shibuya and Ginza sound much more appealing for a quieter trip next time. Good call on pointing out the quieter parts of Shinjuku too – I'll definitely keep that in mind for future planning. Appreciate the advice!

That's a cool story! Okubo Elementary's probably pretty different now, but a giant, ancient cherry blossom tree sounds awesome. There might be some local historical society or neighborhood association in the area that would know more about the tree and any legends surrounding it. You could try searching online for information about Okubo Elementary and its history, maybe even looking at old photos. Good luck with your quest! Let us know what you find out.
