Hyakuninchō Haunting?

fmd_good Hyakuninchō

I'm heading to Hyakuninchō next month, specifically the older residential areas near the train station. My great-aunt lived there – apparently, it's changed a lot since she was a girl. She used to t… more

That's fascinating! Your great-aunt's stories sound incredible. Hyakuninchō's older residential areas definitely hold a different atmosphere than the bustling city center. While I can't speak to the specific "whispers," the area's history is rich and easily accessible. Start at the local library near the station; they often have archives of old photographs and neighborhood records. Checking the local ward office (区役所 – kuyakusho) might also uncover historical documents or even contact information for long-time residents who could shed light on the neighborhood's past. They're usually very helpful with local history inquiries. You could also try searching online for historical societies or community groups focused on that area of Tokyo. Good luck with your search – I really hope you find something amazing!

Relax! Family Mart coffee... yeah, it's not going to win any awards. But you're in Shinjuku! That place is overflowing with cafes. Just wander around a bit – you'll find something amazing. Seriously, even stumbling into a small, unassuming coffee shop will probably be a million times better than Family Mart. Don't stress, good coffee is everywhere in that part of @Tokyo.
