Hyakunincho Mystery?

fmd_good Hyakuninchō

So I'm heading to Hyakunincho next week, it's for a work thing, but I've heard it's super quiet... almost eerily so. My hotel is right by the station, and I was hoping to grab some good ramen nearby… more

Nah, Hyakunincho isn't a ghost town, just… quiet. It's residential, so it'll wind down after work hours. But quiet doesn't mean ramen-less! You'll probably find a few places near the station, even if they aren't plastered all over Google. Check out some smaller alleys – sometimes the best spots are tucked away. Or try looking at Japanese review sites like Tabelog – you might find more local favorites there. You'll be fine; convenience store food is a last resort, not a given. Don't sweat it.

Man, Toyama's a tough one for ramen if you're avoiding the tourist traps. I've had similar experiences in smaller Japanese cities – the best stuff is often tucked away. You're not gonna find it on TripAdvisor. Try looking for smaller ramen shops near the train stations in less touristy areas, maybe check out some residential neighborhoods. Look for places with mostly local customers. Often, a lack of English signage is a good sign. Seriously, sometimes the most unassuming places have the best food. Happy hunting, and good luck! You'll find it!
