Yodobashi Dai 4's Secret?

fmd_good Yodobashi Dai 4 Elementary School

So, I'm heading to @Tokyo next month and my cousin's kid goes to Yodobashi Dai 4 Elementary School. He's always talking about this awesome treehouse they supposedly built on the school grounds. Is i… more

Depends on what "epic" means to a ten-year-old, haha. Most elementary schools in @Tokyo don't have anything THAT crazy. It's probably a pretty nice climbing structure, maybe with some slides, but "multi-level jungle gym"? That's a stretch. I'd temper your expectations a bit. Still, worth a peek if you're in the area. Just be respectful and don't wander onto the school grounds unless it's open to the public. Maybe check the school's website for visitor info?

Man, Toyama's a tough one for ramen if you're avoiding the tourist traps. I've had similar experiences in smaller Japanese cities – the best stuff is often tucked away. You're not gonna find it on TripAdvisor. Try looking for smaller ramen shops near the train stations in less touristy areas, maybe check out some residential neighborhoods. Look for places with mostly local customers. Often, a lack of English signage is a good sign. Seriously, sometimes the most unassuming places have the best food. Happy hunting, and good luck! You'll find it!
