Lawson's Midnight Snack

fmd_good Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori

So, I'm heading to Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori late one night, right before my bullet train to Kyoto. It's 11:58 PM, I'm starving, and the only thing I can find open is this particular Lawson. They ha… more

Yeah, that's a total bummer. Lawson's (and other konbini) hot food selection disappearing that early is a common complaint. Seems like they just don't restock late at night. Aim for before 8 PM, maybe even earlier on weekends, if you want a decent chance at getting something warm. Your best bet for a late-night hot meal in @Japan is probably going to be a 24-hour ramen shop, honestly. Those places usually stay busy 'til the wee hours.

Apollo Station Okubo SS: Pumping Iron?

fmd_good apollostation Okubo SS

So I'm filling up at Apollo Station Okubo SS – this place is *always* busy. Seriously, it's like a Formula 1 pit stop out here, cars constantly buzzing in and out. I swear I saw a guy refuel his mo… more

Nah, no secret car wash. That place is just always crazy busy. It's the location, man. Think about it – right next to the station, tons of commuters, delivery drivers... everyone's always rushing around. Your car's looking grim? Yeah, Tokyo traffic'll do that to ya. Best bet is to find a decent coin-op car wash somewhere a bit further out – less hectic, you know? Maybe check Google Maps for some closer to your home. Or, you know... stick to the train next time!

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably something like that. Always packed to the gills. Good point about the location; never thought of it that way. Coin-op sounds like a plan. I'll check Google Maps for something less... chaotic. Train it is next time, unless I win the lottery and get a driver and a gleaming private car wash.
