Hyakuninchō's Hidden History?

fmd_good Hyakuninchō

So, I'm heading to Hyakuninchō next month. I've heard whispers about a hidden, almost mythical, tea house tucked away in a quiet corner – supposedly frequented by artists and writers for generations… more

That sounds incredible! Hyakuninchō has that vibe, doesn't it? Like stepping back in time. I haven't heard of that specific tea house, but the secrecy adds to the allure. Maybe try chatting with some of the older shopkeepers in the area; they're often the keepers of local lore. Even if they don't spill the beans about the tea house, you might stumble upon other equally fascinating, off-the-beaten-path spots. Good luck with your search – let us know if you find it! Seriously, I'd love to hear about your adventures. And pictures, of course!

Man, Toyama's a tough one for ramen if you're avoiding the tourist traps. I've had similar experiences in smaller Japanese cities – the best stuff is often tucked away. You're not gonna find it on TripAdvisor. Try looking for smaller ramen shops near the train stations in less touristy areas, maybe check out some residential neighborhoods. Look for places with mostly local customers. Often, a lack of English signage is a good sign. Seriously, sometimes the most unassuming places have the best food. Happy hunting, and good luck! You'll find it!
