Finding a decent coffee in Shinjuku

Everyone raves about convenience stores in Japan, but I'm a coffee snob. Seriously, my morning routine revolves around a strong, properly brewed cup. Will Lawson Three-F Kita-Shinjuku's coffee selection actually satisfy a caffeine addict like myself, or am I going to be dragging myself through meetings on lukewarm, watery disappointment? I'm hoping for at least a decent Americano. It's gotta be better than the instant stuff I usually pack, right? Otherwise, I'm bringing my own Aeropress... which defeats the point of using a convenience store, doesn't it?

fwiw i'd skip the conbini and the pour-over spots if you're on a tight schedule. there's a little counter called Coffee Valley in the basement of the Shinjuku Nomura Building, like a 4 minute walk from your lawson. they do a flash brew iced americano that's actually strong and not bitter, 380 yen, and they pour it over a single giant ice cube so it doesn't get watery. the guy there is usually grumpy but the coffee's consistent, i've been going there for like two years and it's never let me down

ngl if you're at that specific lawson you're like a 2 minute walk from Maruyama Coffee near the Shinjuku Center Building. they do a killer pour over for around 600 yen and it's serious stuff, single origin beans roasted in-house. the barista there actually weighs everything and times the pour, it's not some rushed thing. i'd swing by there before your meetings, way better than fighting the conbii machine at lawson which tbh tastes like sadness in a cup

about life is a solid rec but if you're already near that lawson you're actually closer to Fuglen Tokyo on the 1F of the Daiichi Seimei Building, it's like a 3 minute walk east. they do a proper aeropress themselves actually and their house blend is around 450 yen, smooth and strong enough to wake you up without that bitter edge. plus the vibe is way more chill than the streamer coffee counter which can get crowded with tourists taking photos of their latte art.

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

While the local bacon works well in many recipes, I specifically want the crispy type. Where might I find this style of bacon?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
