Naitomachi Nightlife?

fmd_good Naitomachi

I'm heading to Naitomachi next month for a week-long trip. I've heard it's got a pretty vibrant nightlife, but all the English-language blogs just mention the standard stuff – ramen, karaoke. Is the… more

Forget the ramen hype. Head towards the backstreets near the Naitomachi station – the smaller side streets branching off from the main drags. You'll find some seriously cool places that aren't plastered all over TripAdvisor. Look for places with handwritten menus and mostly Japanese patrons. Don't be afraid to just wander; the best discoveries are often accidental. You might stumble on a tiny yakitori place, or a standing bar serving incredible sake. Trust your instincts – if it looks busy and feels local, it probably is. And if you see salarymen heading somewhere after work... follow them! You won't regret it. It's all about exploring, not planning.

Finding the Best Lawson Onigiri

fmd_good Lawson Three-F Kita-Shinjuku

So, I'm heading to Lawson Three-F Kita-Shinjuku next week for a quick bite before catching my bullet train to @Kyoto. I've heard the onigiri selection there is legendary. Seriously, people go crazy… more

Honestly, the "best" onigiri is subjective. But if you're going to Lawson Three-F Kita-Shinjuku, you have to try the seasonal offerings. They often have limited-edition flavors that aren't available anywhere else. Check their in-store flyers – they usually have pictures! Don't sleep on the simple stuff either; sometimes a perfectly made salmon or umeboshi (pickled plum) is all you need. Good luck! And enjoy @Kyoto!

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about the seasonal stuff, that's a total game changer. I'll definitely be checking the flyers... pictures are key! Simple is sometimes best, I know what you mean about the salmon ones. Thanks for the tip on Lawson Three-F Kita-Shinjuku, will totally aim for that one. I'm actually heading to @Osaka after @Kyoto, so maybe I can find some regional specialties there too... fingers crossed!
