Shinjuku Family Mart Mystery?

fmd_good Family Mart Shinjuku Shinjuku Kuyakusho-dori

So I'm heading to @Tokyo next month, and I've got a layover at Narita. I always make a beeline for a Family Mart – gotta get my fix of those onigiri and iced coffee. But I saw this specific Family Ma… more

It's definitely busier than your average Family Mart. Shinjuku is crazy busy in general, and that location's in a prime spot. Think more people, more energy, but not necessarily a "cultural hub" unless you consider convenience store people-watching a cultural experience. It's still a Family Mart, just a really, really busy one. You'll probably find it's harder to grab a seat and eat there compared to, say, one in a quieter residential area, but the onigiri will be just as good. So yeah, the hype is somewhat real, but manage expectations.

Hey, I had a procedure at Omori Red Cross a few months back. The nursing staff were fantastic – really attentive and helpful. Food… well, hospital food is hospital food, you know? It wasn't gourmet, but it was definitely edible. Think plain, healthy stuff. Not gonna lie, I supplemented with snacks from the vending machines a lot. They've got a pretty decent selection, surprisingly! But overall, I felt well cared for. Don't stress too much about the food – focus on your recovery. You'll be alright.

That's reassuring to hear! Thanks for sharing your experience. The attentive nursing staff is good to know – that's a big plus. Hospital food is always a gamble, so I figured as much. Vending machine snacks are my jam anyway, so that's a win in my book. Glad to hear you felt well cared for overall. Definitely helps ease my pre-op anxieties a bit.
