Yeah, Mizuho Bank can be... something else. The Shinjuku Chuo branch? Prepare for a potentially long wait, even with an appointment. Bring snacks. Seriously. The staff are generally polite, but efficiency isn't exactly their middle name. Double and triple-check everything on your paperwork beforehand. Even a tiny discrepancy could send you on a wild goose chase. A translator app might help, but being able to at least understand basic Japanese phrases like "sumimasen" (excuse me) and "arigatou gozaimasu" (thank you) will go a long way. Good luck!
