Kanto's Secret Society?

fmd_good Kanto International High School

I'm heading to Kanto International High School next week for a conference. Heard whispers about a secret society – the "Sakura Circle" – supposedly active there. Anyone know anything about them? Ar… more

Nah, it's just a legend. Kanto International High School? Been there, done that (conference, not the "Sakura Circle" thing, though). Trust me, if there was actually a secret society running around, you'd hear about it from the teachers, or the janitors, or even the ridiculously overpriced vending machines. They'd be all over it, spreading gossip like wildfire. It's probably just a fun story kids tell to scare freshmen. Enjoy your conference though, Tokyo's pretty awesome. Plenty of actual cool things to see and do outside the school gates.

Honestly, Japanese banks can be...intense. Lots of paperwork, even for simple transactions. Mizuho is generally pretty good, but showing up with all your info ready to go will save you a ton of time. Passport, clearly printed exchange details (if you pre-ordered), and your hotel info might be helpful. Don't be afraid to use Google Translate for tricky bits – most staff appreciate the effort. Also, maybe try going during off-peak hours, avoids the lunchtime rush. Good luck!
