Probably just a storage room or maybe a break room. Lawson's are pretty tightly run, I doubt there's some crazy secret stash of Pocky or a portal to another dimension. Unless...it is a portal to another dimension, and that's why no one talks about it. My money's on cleaning supplies and extra boxes though.

Honestly, Japanese banks can be...intense. Lots of paperwork, even for simple transactions. Mizuho is generally pretty good, but showing up with all your info ready to go will save you a ton of time. Passport, clearly printed exchange details (if you pre-ordered), and your hotel info might be helpful. Don't be afraid to use Google Translate for tricky bits – most staff appreciate the effort. Also, maybe try going during off-peak hours, avoids the lunchtime rush. Good luck!
