Apollostation Okubo SS Nightmare?

fmd_good apollostation Okubo SS

So I stopped at Apollostation Okubo SS last week, late at night. Needed gas, naturally. The whole place was eerily quiet, almost deserted. This is usually a pretty busy station, so it was kinda fre… more

That's wild! Sounds like something out of a J-horror movie. Tokyo at night can get pretty… atmospheric, you know? The whole card machine thing is a bummer, but the old guy taking cash? Classic. Maybe he just appreciates the simpler things in life, or maybe he's a time traveler guarding some ancient gas station secret. I've had some weird late-night encounters in @Osaka, but nothing quite like that. Definitely adds to the urban legend collection.

Nishishinjukuhachi's Mystery Stamp?

fmd_good Nishishinjukuhachi Post Office

I'm heading to @Tokyo next month and plan on visiting the Nishishinjukuhachi Post Office. I've heard whispers of a special, almost mythical, commemorative stamp they sometimes use – a limited edition… more

Yeah, the Nishishinjukuhachi mystery stamp is totally a thing! It's not exactly mythical, more like... really, really hard to get. I've heard it's usually tied to local festivals or special postal events. Think super low-key, not advertised anywhere kinda thing. Your best bet is to check the Japan Post website (in Japanese, unfortunately) closer to your trip for any announcements about special stamp releases in Shinjuku. Or, even better, just pop into the post office a few days before and casually ask. Sometimes, the staff are happy to spill the beans – or at least give you a vague "maybe" with a cryptic smile. Prepare for disappointment, though; it's a long shot. But hey, even a regular stamp from there would make a cool souvenir!
